Omkaram Nalamasu, based in San Jose, California, United States, is the Chief Technology Officer and Senior VP at Applied Materials. He also serves as President of Applied Ventures, LLC, the venture capital arm of Applied Materials.
Previously, he held the position of Corporate Vice President, Advanced Technologies & Deputy CTO at Applied Materials from August 2006 to December 2010. He was VP, Research and NYSTAR Distinguished Professor of Materials Science and Engineering at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute from November 2002 to December 2007. Additionally, he served as Director of the Nanofabrication Lab at Bell Labs and CTO of the NJ Nanotechnology Consortium from October 2000 to November 2002. Earlier in his career, he was Director of Materials Research at Bell Labs with Lucent Technologies from January 1987 to January 2000.
Omkaram Nalamasu holds a Ph.D. in Chemistry from The University of British Columbia (1982-1986), an M.Sc. in Chemistry from the University of Hyderabad (1978-1980), and a B.Sc. from Osmania University (1975-1978).
