The Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) is a multilateral development finance institution focused on fostering socio-economic development in its 57 member countries and Muslim communities worldwide, in accordance with the principles of Shari'ah (Islamic Law). Established in 1975, the IsDB Group provides project financing, trade finance, technical assistance, and capacity building in strategic sectors such as poverty reduction, infrastructure, health, education, agriculture, and Islamic finance. The Group comprises five entities: the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB), the Islamic Research and Training Institute (IRTI) (now Islamic Development Bank Institute - IsDBI), the Islamic Corporation for the Development of the Private Sector (ICD), the Islamic Corporation for the Insurance of Investment and Export Credit (ICIEC), and the International Islamic Trade Finance Corporation (ITFC).
